imageKARACHI: Inspector General of Police - Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali on Friday directed Additional Inspector General, Karchi to ensure that loud speakers, installed at any public place or otherwise, are not misused in any manner.

He has also asked AIG, special branch and AIG - Karachi to keep strict vigil on surroundings of all places of worships and ensure that amplifiers are operated in a modified manner, and must not cause any inconvenience to the people residing in the area.

IGP - Sindh in his directives also urged the officials to ensure that ban imposed on production and sale of video cassettes, CDs, DVDs etc containing provocative speeches, engendering violence of any sort, is implemented in letter and spirit.

Meanwhile also taking notice of news report about speeches made at certain places in the city, specially in its south zone, that could instigate people against other sects or groups, the Sindh police chief said these can neither be accepted nor allowed.

Jamali said it was the responsibility of the police department to not only protect lives and properties of the citizens, without any distinction, but also ensuring their rights of dignified existence in peaceful environment is guaranteed.
