CS for expeditious activation of Pakistan Textile City

imageKARACHI: The Pakistan Textile City (PTC) should be activated expeditiously.

This was stressed by Sindh Chief Secretary, Muhammad Ijaz Choudhry.

He was presiding over a review meeting regarding the issues of the PTC here.

Ijaz Choudhry asked the secretaries of the Planning and Development and Local Government Departments to jointly ensure the expeditions activation of the PTC in accordance with its charter.

The main issue, it was pointed out, pertains to the water connection, which requires the funds.

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) authorities apprised the meeting that with the passage of time there was enhancement of charges, and had the work started in time without delay, the water connection could have been materialised earlier.

Chairman PTC Mirza Ikhtiar Baig elaborated the salient features of the project.

Chief Secretary noted that every issues must be solved to the entire satisfaction of the stake-holders-engaged in the development process of PTC.

It was decided that Secretary Local Government would re-submit the development plan in consultation with Finance and Planning and Development Department.
