KARACHI: Bollywood heartthrob, Salman Khan has reportedly challenged a magistrates order invoking the charge of ‘culpable homicide’ against him for a hit-and-run case in 2002. It is expected that Session Court Judge UB Hejib will announce his verdict on June 10.
According to Indian media sources, Salman Khan’s advocate Ashok Mudargi, has claimed the charge of ‘culpable homicide’ is “erroneous, bad in law and contrary to evidence on record.” However, Dabangg Khan was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he crashed his Toyota Land Cruiser into a bakery in Bandra, killing one and injuring four others sleeping on the footpath outside.
According to media reports, the Bollywood bad boy was initially charged with causing death by negligence. But after a thorough investigation, it has been claimed the magistrate has brought forward a more serious charge of ‘culpable homicide’ against the actor. Due to the seriousness of the charge if found guilty, Salman Khan could possibly face a jail term of up to 10 years.
