Carpet customers throng Pakistan pavilion

imageSHANGHAI: The carpet buyers from around the world throng at Pakistani pavilion set up at the International fair held last week at Shanghai, also popularly known as China's Commercial and Economic hub.

The DOMOTEX Asia/CHINAFLOOR, took place from the March 26-28 at Shanghai New International Exhibition Center (SNIEC).

It hosted more than 1,200 exhibitors from 35 different countries, in a total space of 11 exhibition halls with covering area of 127,000 square meters.

Around 42,000 visitors from China and all over the world visited the event. It was the fifteenth edition of the event.

"This was the second time for Pakistan carpet companies to attend this exhibition as Pakistan Delegation" Zafar Hasan, the Pakistan's Consul here said adding that "Twenty five companies with about fifty five delegates participated".

He pointed out that the Pakistan Pavilion covered an area of 500 sqm. A large number of buyers from mainland and aboard visited the Pakistan stalls to inquire about the products and prices, he said

He said that almost all the displayed carpets from the exhibitors were sold by the closing of the exhibition.

All necessary facilities and assistance were provided by the Consulate General, including construction of the stalls, area booking and the other related work.

The Consul General Zafar Hasan inspected the stalls construction onsite visit before the start of the exhibition.

He inaugurated the 'Pakistan Pavilion' and met all the delegates. Necessary publicity was also carried out by the Consulate to attract maximum number of visitors to the Pakistan Pavilion.

The delegates greatly appreciated the personal efforts of the Consul General and the Consulate in their successful participation in the mega event.

The Trade Development Authority (TDAP) sponsored the event and also established an information desk.
