It looks like Maryam Nawaz is heading in a new direction with her personal social media strategy; the PML-N vice president is now officially on Instagram.
Though her account already existed with around 139,000 followers, it was managed by her team. The account has been wiped clean with all previous posts archived or deleted and Nawaz will now be handling her account by herself.
"Previously managed by my team, this account shall now be operated by me personally," she shared in her first post.
"I wish to keep it as apolitical as possible so you and I can have more human moments. For my views related to politics, I will keep using my Twitter handle."
It looks like the account promises a more personal and intimate look into the party leader's life. So far, she has posted annotated pages from a book she read while in prison, Paulo Coelho's pop-fiction/philosophy crossover Manuscript Found in Accra.
Could the politician be positioning herself into a lifestyle icon? Let's see.
