Irish annual inflation hits five-year low of -0.5pc in May

The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), which strips out mortgages, fell 0.8pc in the year to May 2020, it said.

DUBLIN: Ireland's annual inflation rate hit a five-year low of -0.5pc in May, with clothing, communications and furnishings pushing prices lower, data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) showed on Thursday.

The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), which strips out mortgages, fell 0.8pc in the year to May 2020, it said.
