Petrol shortage crisis: Situation will improve in three days, claims minister
- There is a shortage of petrol in most of the cities of the country including Karachi and despite most of the petrol pumps are open but petrol is not available.
Federal Minister for Petroleum Omar Ayub Khan has claimed that the situation of petrol shortage in the country will improve in the next three days.
Talking to media, the federal minister informed that action is being taken against those hoarding petrol, and cases had been registered by seizing petrol reserves. Omar Ayub said that the demand for petrol is 30 percent higher.
It should be noted that after the reduction in the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan, complaints of non-availability of petrol at petrol pumps arose across the country since June 1, and the government has so far failed to address this issue.

An official of the Ogra told Business Recorder that the authority received response of the show cause notices issued to six OMCs - Attock Petroleum Limited (APL), Shell Pakistan Limited, Total Parco Pakistan Ltd, Hascol Petroleum Ltd, Gas and Oil Pakistan, and Puma Energy (Private) Ltd.
They were blamed for creating artificial shortage of petrol across the country out of 33 OMCs.
Earlier, a meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the Cabinet took notice of the artificial crisis of petroleum products and the Prime Minister had directed to take strict action against the perpetrators of the artificial crisis of petrol.
