ISLAMABAD: As the Covid-19 national tally has reached 110,065 cases the government has failed to make functional Pak Nigehbaan App to facilitate the coronavirus patients in finding availability of hospital beds located across the country in 1,110 health facilities.

So far no link of the Pak Nigehbaan App is available neither on Google Play Store nor on Google Crome as a result people across the country are facing serious problems in acquiring information about available beds in hospitals, and many people reportedly lost their lives, while moving from one health facility to another, to find ventilator.

As of now, total nation-wide confirmed cases have reached 110,586 mark of which 41,303 cases are in Sindh, Punjab has 40,819 cases, 14,527 cases in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 6,788 cases in Balochistan, 5,785 cases in the Islamabad Capital Territory, 952 cases in the Gilgit-Baltistan, and 412 cases in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The countrywide coronavirus deaths have reached 2,122 of which 683 are from Punjab, 696 Sindh, 610 Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 56 Balochistan, Islamabad 52, Gilgit-Baltistan 14, and nine in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The government on Friday June 5, 2020 announced that the National Command and Operation Centre (NOOC) has launched the Pak Nighban app in a bid to give timely and proper information to the Covid-19 patients especially about the availability of ventilators.

Various people have complained that they could not find Pak Nighban app on Google app store, and requested help in finding the app, so that they can take benefit of the app to avert any unwanted situation in the wake of severity of the Covid-19 disease. According to the government's announcement the app has information about a total of 1,110 hospitals across Pakistan.

It will provide details of the number of beds, ventilators and all other details of these hospitals. It will also have information on emergency respondents and healthcare officials available at these hospitals.

In an emergency situation, people can easily check the app and go to the hospital that has the facilities available at that time.

According to the NCOC, this will help save lives in cases of emergency.
