No shortage of POL in the country

Petroleum companies Go and Zoom says that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in the country.

As per details, Zeeshan Syed, Chief Executive Officer of petroleum company Go and Shehryar Mehr, Chief Executive of Zoom held a joint press conference in Lahore.

He said that despite the problem of coronavirus and price issues in the country, the supply of petroleum products is continues unabated. Go and Zoom companies have delivered ample quantity of petrol and diesel at their petrol pumps.

It may be recalled that there have been complaints of non-availability of petrol at petrol pumps across the country since June 1, following the fall in prices of petroleum products in Pakistan and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has so far failed to address the issue.

Earlier, the blame of the current petroleum products' supply crisis across the country was laid at the door of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, which rejected a new price mechanism proposed by the Petroleum Division.

As per sources, Petroleum Division, in its summary tabled on May 30, 2020 clearly indicated the distinct possibility of a severe crisis of POL products in the country if their proposal of new price mechanism is not approved with immediate effect, the sources added.
