  • The Pakistan Poultry Association too has termed the news to be false, saying that coronavirus has not been reported in any chicken product in any part of the country.
05 Jun 2020

The Punjab health department has termed the news that coronavirus has been found in chicken as fake and baseless.

Recently, a notification started circulating on social media, saying that the deadly coronavirus has been found to be present in poultry.

The notification further said that the virus is more lethal to human life therefore, sale of poultry and other products need to be banned with immediate effects.

However, the Punjab department said that it has not issued any notification banning chicken products. The Pakistan Poultry Association too has termed the news to be false, saying that coronavirus has not been reported in any chicken product in any part of the country, local media reported.

"Besides, poultry has not been reported to be linked with transmission of the virus to humans in any part of the world," association’s vice chairperson, Chaudhry Farghan said.

"Where there is smoke, there is firr," as the maxim goes. There is a vdo circulation that shows a chicken suffering or dead but the cause is not mentioned. Another foto gives details of some sort of handout that the chicken was suffering from the dreaded disease nowadays rampant. Salams
