LAHORE: Chairman, Pakistan cricket, Board, Mohammad Ijaz Butt said on Thursday that Indian cricket team will visit Pakistan in near future.

"I had very productive meetings with Indian Board officials and they are also of the view to revive cricket ties", he told reporters here after arriving back home from India.

He said The Indian Prime Minister has also evinced interest in reviving Pak-India cricket ties and PCB is also keen to have India playing in Pakistan.

"Whenever Pakistan and Indian cricket teams play, no matter any part of the world, it generates huge attention and interest not only from the people of both the countries but also across the world and revival of cricket ties between Pak-India will further address the cause of cricket in sub-continent ",he asserted.

"Even ICC is also keen to see both teams playing and it has assured its full cooperation in this regard ",said the Chairman PCB.

He attributed Pak team's defeat in the semi final to slow approach of batsmen while chasing the target.

"Our team put up good performance throughout the tournament reaching the semi finals which was indeed a big achievement but they lacked patient in the crunch game and could not make it to the final ",he said.

He said the batting power play should have been taken at the right stage and if it was taken at the right game it could have been a factor in minimising the run gap.

Chairman PCB said the decision to drop Shoaib Akhtar from the semi final team was the decision taken by the team management, pointing out that the pace bowler lacks in form and fitness.

He praised the performance of Wahab Riaz and said he justified his inclusion in the team and bowled out five Indian players.

Ijaz Butt dismissed a volley of questions regarding match fixing or betting in the semi final. "There are meagre speculations and nothing else and such (match fixing of betting in such an important match) cannot be even dreamt in the given circumstances when ICC is too vigilant on its issue besides media is open and fast to disclose any such move ".
