The shopkeepers of Tyre Market, Orangzaib Market, Akbar Market and Jamia Cloth Market closed their shops and took to streets for recording their protest. They blocked the Main MA Jinnah Road by burning tyres. They also chanted slogans against lawlessness, extortion threats and firing incidents to intimidate traders.

They said that shopkeepers are living in perpetual fear as they regularly receive threats to pay extortion money or face consequences. They said that despite several complaints with police and other concerned departments, the government has failed to provide security to the shopkeepers.

Police and administration officials rushed to the MA Jinnah Road and held talks with the protestors and assured them of security. Later, the protesting traders dispersed, peacefully.
