      <title>ENERCON completes energy conservation projects to meet energy crunch in country </title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;img style="margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; float: left;" src="https://i.brecorder.com/images/stories/pics2011/mar/enercon-400.jpg" width="400" height="266" /&gt;ISLAMABAD: The National Energy Conservation Centre (ENERCON) of Ministry of Environment has successfully completed its energy conservation projects to meet the energy crunch in the country. Talking to APP, Managing Director ENERCON Fareed Ullah Khan said that "This would help to tackle the emerging situation being faced by the people especially during the sweltering heat of current summer season". "It has also significantly reduced the emission of other pollutants associated with the combustion of fossil fuels", he added. He said that ENERCON has identified huge potential of energy efficiency in Pakistan and over 192 Boiler/Furnaces tuned and 3.2 percent improvement in efficiency was achieved while average annual energy savings of Rs.110.8 million were identified. While briefing about achievements of ENERCON, M.D informed that surveys at 42 plants were conducted and Rs.36.7 million annual energy saving was identified which results in reduction of 7.24 percent annual fuel bill. He said that in order to achieve the objectives, Green Energy Audit (GEA) was conducted in various industrial units which identified more than Rs.58.7 million per annum to benefit maximum number of industrial units with the latest technique. "Government is determined to promote alternate energy methods in industrial, agriculture, automobile and housing sectors to make them energy efficient and reducing their fuel expenditures" he stated. He further revealed that training workshop were conducted in major cities of Pakistan in which fuel efficiency methods was introduced about steam distribution system, improving steam boiler operating efficiency, energy efficiency in refrigeration &amp; air conditioning.&lt;/p&gt;
