KARACHI: Fast bowling legend Sarfraz Nawaz has alleged that incompetent and bad advisors around Zaka Ashraf, Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) may let him down if he failed to live up to his commitments and independent policies.
"Wrong advisors may let down PCB and Pakistan and Zaka Ashraf down and cause trouble for Pakistan cricket," he alleged in a candid talk to a private TV Channel on Sunday night.
He claimed that certain officials of PCB are misguiding the Chairman which on longer run would badly tarnish Pakistan's cricket image.
He further charged that certain element within PCB are working against the interest of Karachi cricket and they are not giving permission for holding Ramzan events and World XI matches in Karachi.
"Holding such events like the highly successfully conducted Champions League has exposed PCB officials," he accused.
Sarfraz Nawaz said he was appointed to train Pakistan young fast bowlers and was conducting trials of players in age group of 17-25 under PCB Skill Consultant Programme with Abdul Qadir and Ijaz Ahmed to select batsmen, fast bowlers and spinners for future grooming.
He said during the meeting with PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf, a few weeks ago, it was decided that he (Sarfraz) will help in preparing training and coaching of young fast bowlers till the World Cup 2015. He said PCB Director General Javed Miandad was also present on the occasion.
"I can not produce fast bowlers within a few months as it required long term planning, training and coaching to prepare them for future," he said.
Sarfraz Nawaz negated the impressions that he was looking for long term job with PCB to make money.
"There was huge number of top officials in PCB with lucrative salaries. But I had been working and spotting talent in the ground," he maintained.
He said he had been giving services to groom, train and coach fast bowlers for the past many years.
"My only fault is that I always speak the truth which is not liked in PCB hierarchy," he said.
Another Pakistan Test pace bowler Jalaluddin said he was surprised with PCB's double standard on Kamran Akmal.
He recalled that Kamran Akmal was included in World Cup 2011 but discarded afterwards. "PCB should come clear on Kamran Akmal," he said.
"These kinds of double standard are harming Pakistan cricket badly," he said.
