KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said on Tuesday that the limit of fuel quota for officers of KMC being reviewed with the closure of provision of newspapers and telephone bills of the residence of officers to curtail the non-development expenditures which is expected to save about Rs 50 million annually.
The Mayor stated this while chairing a meeting held to finalize the budget for next fiscal year and the ADP uplift schemes, said a statement on Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor Syed Arshad Hasan and Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman alongwith departmental heads of KMC.
It was decided in the meeting that non-development expenditure in KMC will bring to minimum level so such resources could be spent on maximum development activities and the people provided with more and more facilities.
He said that changes being made in KMC departments to ensure better administration.
He said that Rs 3 million saved from the stoppage of petrol quota.
