PESHAWAR: The district administration in its ongoing drive against encroachments removed illegal stalls at several places of the metropolis here on Thursday.
The operation against encroachments has been launched on the directive of Town-I Nazim Zahid Nadeem to create convenience for masses and ease traffic congestion at different parts of the city as Eid draws closer.
The concerned staff equipped with machinery removed encroachments from footpaths at various places including Circular road, Ramdas, Dabgari, Namak Mandi and Kisa Khawani areas.
During operation, a truck load items were also confiscated and Town-I Nazim warned that strict action would be taken against those shopkeepers and vendors who erected encroachments and created inconvenience for masses.
He said the operation would continue indiscriminately and no one would be allowed to take law into own hands.
