Speaker NA directs to take action against immoral websites

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser  Thursday directed the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan to take action against immoral websites and submit report within 15 days.

During proceeding of National Assembly, he said that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) should be directed to suspend all such websites which were spreading immoral material.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said that the Pakistan Television had maintained the country’s culture and social norms in telecasting its programmes.

He said that there was a censor board at PTV to monitor the contents of programmes regularly.

He said that Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) was responsible to monitor the private channels and monitoring of its contents.

He added a team of  PEMRA regularly monitors all private channels to have check on release of any inappropriate material.

He said that it was responsibility of every one to telecast programmes in accordance with the social and cultural values of the country.
