Govt taking concrete steps to provide suitable environment to attract investors

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra Wednesday said that government is taking concrete steps to provide suitable environment to attract investors and utilize endless resources for promoting economic activities in the province.
He was chairing first meeting of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ committee constituted under the directives of KP Chief Minister (CM) to create congenial environment for investors and address problems of traders’ community.
The meeting among others was attended by Special Assistant to CM on Industries Abdul Kareem Khan, Special Assistant on Information Technology Kamran Bangaash, Secretary Finance Shakeel Qadir Khan, Managing Director IT Board Dr. Shahbaz Khan and private members of the committee.
The meeting reviewed the problems confronted by traders’ community and matters relating to promotion of investment.
Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister said that government has formulated a comprehensive plan on Ease of Doing Business in its 100-day agenda.
He said that tax concession would be given to new entrepreneurs and employment creating organizations adding new reforms are being introduced in tax system aiming its improved productivity.
He said Hayatabad Industrial Estate would be made a modern industrial estate while matters pertaining to sui-gas and electricity would be taken up with federal government.
He said government would consider successful experiences of private sector for creating of employment and invite investment. Finance Minister said that meeting of the committee would be held on weekly for getting fruitful results.
