RAWALPINDI: In order to provide relief to the citizens, the Rawalpindi district Administration would setup 16 Ramazan Bazars in different areas and ensure supply of daily use items on approved and subsidized rates.
It was told by Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Muhammad Ali Randhawa while addressing “Meet the press” in Rawalpindi Press Club here on Tuesday.
He expressed his determinations to keep the prices of essential items under control and said strict daily monitoring of Ramazan Bazaars would be carried out and grocery, fresh food items would be ensured at subsidized rates in these bazaars to facilitate the common consumers.
He informed that Special Price Control Magistrates would also be made active to check the prices of essential commodities in the markets.
The meat would be available at subsidized rate of 750 in Ramazan Bazaar, he added.
Answering a query, DC said that government is taking a number of steps for raising the quality of education and upgrading schools. The government schools were being equipped with the advanced education facilities, adding that a goal of national development could not be achieved without imparting education to the new generation.
Randhawa said that during the visit Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar suggested to offer internship to the universities students in Govt schools. He said it will improve the performance of School teachers and initially it would be started in 10 schools.
He informed that Task Management System was being introduced to monitor the citizens complains by using computerized tracking number.
While responding to another query, he said encroachment along roadsides was the main hurdle in smooth flow of traffic on city roads which should be removed by the departments concerned at all costs to ensure better traffic flow on the roads.
Without removal of encroachment, increasing traffic problems cannot be controlled and other traffic related issues cannot be addressed properly, he added. DC asked CTO to evolve special traffic plan to avoid traffic mess in bazaars and markets and to facilitate the road users.
