PESHAWAR: A three days anti polio campaign was started in Swabi district on Monday where children under five years of age would be provided anti polio vaccine.
Dr Niaz Muhammad, District Health Officer Swabi told media persons that 2,85,000 children would be vaccinated during the three days campaign for which all arrangements were completed.
A total of 900 teams were constructed besides deployment of policemen for security of vaccinators, he said.
Dr Niaz said polio was a crippling disease and can only be eradicated through administration of anti polio vaccine to children under five years of age.
He urged parents and guardians to bring their children to nearby hospitals and BHUs in case of teams did not arrive.
