Recent incidents of terrorism a conspiracy to fan sectarianism, create unrest: Asfandyar

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party central President Asfandyar Wali Khan Thursday termed recent incident of terrorism a conspiracy to fan sectarianism and propagating ethnic violence in the country.

In a statement issued here, he strongly condemned killing of passenger at Makran coastal highway by miscreants and said that it was a barbaric act by anti-state elements, adding that enemies of the country wanted to sabotage the peace process and create unrest.

The ANP leader called for implementation of National Action Plan in letter and spirit to foil the nefarious designs of terrorists.

He expressed solidarity with the bereaved families of Hazara community, victim families of Makran Coast Highway in Balochistan and Hayatabad operation in Peshawar, adding the government should have to take pragmatic measures to eliminate terrorism and extremism in all the forms and manifestations.

Asfandyar said the recent incidents of terrorism and killing were matter of grave concern and need immediate attention of the government.
