ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar on Wednesday said the government was taking concrete steps for strengthening the national economy.

Talking to PTV, he said the incumbent government was committed to bring improvement in the country's economy as well as national institutions.

He said Finance Minister Asad Umar was performing his duties with full devotions and utilising his all out efforts for stable economy.

Usman Dar said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was not responsible for current inflation in the country but it was result of bad economic policies of the previous governments of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

He said the PTI government was making policies to bridge the gap between exports and imports as it was major way to improve national economy, adding that dollar had artificially controlled during the last tenure of the PML-N which was the main reason for current inflation.

Replying to a question, he said the PPP and PML-N leaderships remained involved in massive corruption and both had looted national wealth mercilessly.

Replying to another query, he said the government would introduce an amnesty scheme for those who had not declared their assets so far.
