Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra while taking a revolutionary step in tribal history has instructed to exempt all food items and material used for developmental works for rehabilitation of TDPs from taxes. He also instructed political agents to resolve problems of the people of Fata through Jirga which is their tribal tradition.
He expressed these views while chairing a Political Agents' Conference here at Governors House Peshawar on Thursday. ACS FATA Sikandar Qayyum, Political Agents and Deputy Commissioners from FRs were also present in the meeting. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that due to successful operations led by Army, sacrifices by law enforcement agencies and people of FATA, peace has been restored in FATA.
While giving instructions to political agents, Governor said that Political administration should take imperative and concrete steps to maintain peace and resolve problems of the people of FATA on urgent basis. The Governor while identifying various problems has stressed that problems faced by TDPs should be sorted out on priority basis. In this connection political agents should submitted fortnightly report of their respective agencies to Additional Chief Secretary Fata. Facilitating people of FATA and TDPs is the top most priority of the incumbent government.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra while appreciating the tremendous progress of health and political administration of FATA in the fight against Polio has directed all the Political Agents to ensure polio eradication from the entire region in future with consistency as well. The Governor has given instructions to political agents to give field visits to FATA and observe the problems and sorting out solution to various problems.
