Model Town incident: 116 police officials indicted

An anti-terrorism court on Thursday indicted 116 police officials in a complaint of Idara Minhajul Quran a sister organization of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) for Model Town killing incident. At least 14 persons were killed and over 100 injured during the anti-encroachment operation outside the Model Town residence of PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on June 17, 2014.
The court in 2017 had admitted the complaint partially against 125 officials of police and district government while rejected it to the extent of Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and other federal/provincial ministers.
