The Karachi Port handled 129,510 tonnes of cargo comprising 101,138 tonnes of import cargo and 28,372 tonnes of export cargo including 5,647 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 101,138 tonnes comprised of 46,117 tonnes of containerised cargo; 19,096 tonnes of general cargo; 18,675 tonnes of bulk cargo: 9,785 tonnes of coal; 8,890 tonnes of rock phosphate and 17,250 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,372 tonnes comprised of 21,162 tonnes of containerised cargo, 210 tonnes of general cargo and 7,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,647 containers comprising of 3,460 containers import and 2,187 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1,032 of 20's and 1,198 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 16 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 599 of 20's and 169 of 40's loaded containers while 96 of 20's and 577 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were two ships namely Kota Kaya and Hyundai Highness carrying containers sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. Ever Divine, Rowan-3 and Jasco Chang Zhou carrying containers, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely Cosco Boston, Pretty World, Han Ren and Akdeniz-M carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while two ships namely Zoilo and Ras Ghumays-1 carrying oil tanker and rock phosphate respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
There were eight vessels viz. CSCL Sydney, MSC Jasmine, Hyundai Long Beach, Pacific Energy, Snow Ploeg, Maistros, Hoegh Trident and Bedford Castle carrying containers, oil tankers, mogas, vehicle and steel respectively due to arrive on Friday while six vessels viz. Prosper, APL Japan, MT Karachi, Chemroad Nova, Ocean Vendor and Peace Angel carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and steel respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 180,990 tonnes comprising 141,736 tonnes of import cargo and 39,254 tonnes of export cargo including 3,322 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 141,736 tonnes includes 33,655 tonnes of furnace oil; 20,700 tonnes of palm oil; 30,500 tonnes of LNG; 1,662 tonnes of LPG; 17,287 tonnes of coal; 14,068 tonnes of soyabean oil and 23,864 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 39,254 tonnes includes 39,254 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,322 containers comprising of 1,256 containers import and 2,066 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were two ships namely MT Lahore and MT IGLC Anka carrying furnace oil and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while three ships namely MV Achilleas-5, MT Umm Bab and MT Golden Pacific carrying coal, LPG and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Maersk Salina, MV Achilleas-5, MV Saadong Hai Yao, MT IGLC Anka, MT Nordic Gas, MT Umm Bab, MT Grand Ace-2, MT Golden Pacific and MT Lahore currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seeds, LPG, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as thirteen ships namely CV MSC Lucy, CV CNNI Arauco, MV Golden Trader, MV Chem New York, MT Globe Tanya, MT Shalamar, MT King Dorian, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Ashada, MT Sea Danse, MT Bahra, MT Bunga Akasia and MT Bunga Angelica carrying containers, soyabean seeds, chemical, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday.
There were three vessels viz. CV CNNI Arauco, CV Hugo Schulte and MT Al-Salam-II carrying containers and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were six ships namely CV Hugo Schulte, MV BBC Iowa, MV Da King, MV Aal Bangkok MT Globe Tanya and MT Arietis carrying containers, crane, project cargo, LPG and diesel oil respectively due to arrive on Friday.
There are four ships namely CV TG Poseidon, MV Finesses and MT Distya Amiya carrying containers, general cargo and oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Saturday, while two ships namely CV Express Black Sea and MT Brizo carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.
