The United Nation Industrial Development Organisation (Unido) has completed study of different industries for energy conservation and identified five potential areas of the Pakistan industrial sector for this purpose.
Source told Business Recorder that the Unido was working on energy conservation in developing countries to make their industries energy efficient. As a part of this programme, Unido undertook study in Pakistan and identified five potential industries for making them energy efficient. The industries identified in Pakistan include; textile, dairy, foundry, ceramics, paper & pulp for energy saving.
The Unido's consultant and project manager Mansoor Ahmad Khan and Ali Yasir held a meeting with the stakeholders of the related industries at the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) here on Tuesday that was also attended by Smeda's senior officials. Smeda's General Manager Business and Sector Development Division Haroon Ahmed Khan presided over the meeting wherein the consultants exchanged their views on the subject matter with the industries' representatives.
Once the findings were validated by the authorities concerned, Undio would take steps to implement the project in the identified industries, the sources added.
