The Sindh Rangers on Sunday claimed to have arrested six alleged criminals in separate raids conducted in different parts of the city during last 24 hours. A spokesman for Rangers said that the paramilitary troops arrested six alleged criminals during different raids conducted in North Karachi, Baldia Town and Liaqatabad.
Among those taken into the custody, four are members of a banned organisation, while remaining two belonged to the militant wing of a political party, the spokesman said, adding the paramilitary troops during their raids also recovered arms and bullets from their possession.
Meanwhile, police claimed to have killed an alleged dacoit during an `encounter' in Sherpao Colony's Star ground, falling in the jurisdiction of Quaidabad. The alleged dacoit was identified as 28-yeard-old Zafar, son of Afzal Hameed, police said, claiming that one pistol was recovered from his possession.
