Wackenhut Pakistan

Published January 16, 2017 Updated January 16, 2017 12:00am

Wackenhut Pakistan (Private) Limited (WPPL) was registered as a Private Limited Company in December 1992. Operating on a small scale as a provider of guarding services to financial institutions and commercial organisations and to some a very small extent installation of burglar/intruder alarm systems.
However, after it's acquisition by the owners of Security & Management Services (Private) Limited (SMS), a pioneer in the provision of guarding services, it became a member of the PATHFINDER GROUP, the largest Integrated Security Services provider in Pakistan and one of the top ranking security services companies providing Guarding and Cash-in-Transit Services, clients including banks, DFIs, INGOs, industrial and commercial organisations.
In mid-2015, the Board of Directors took a decision to transfer all Guarding Contracts managed by Wackenhut Pakistan to Security & Management Services (Pvt) Limited (SMS), its sister concern in the PATHFINDER GROUP, with effect from January 01, 2016. The objective was to enable each company to concentrate on one business only, as a result Wackenhut Pakistan's focus rested entirely on Cash-in-Transit (CIT) Service and ATM Replenishment Service while SMS concentrated on provision of Guarding services.
For providing CIT service Wackenhut uses a large fleet of armoured vehicles only, each vehicle manned by a 4-man crew, all highly trained. Each individual is trained at Training Schools operated by another company of the PATHFINDER GROUP, Facility Specialist & Multi Services (Private) Limited (FSMS). Most of the CIT crew are ex-servicemen drawn from the Group's guard force provided they have performed with exemplary character and high sense of duty. Every individual has to go through a stringent check of their antecedents, this checking/verification is done through NADRA, Police and also through another sister of the PATHFINDER GROUP, Research & Collection Services (Pvt) Limited (RCS), which specialises in verification of antecedents, credit verification, due diligence, security surveys, risk assessment etc.
The use of armoured vehicles ensures secure movement of cash & valuables within a city and between various cities by surface routes. Cash and valuables are also transported from one city to another by air.
Wackenhut's CIT service not only provides a secure way of transporting cash but also reduces time and eliminates the risk inherent in moving cash in non-armoured vehicles. It facilitates overnight safekeeping of consignments in its own facilities. The fully armoured CIT vehicles coupled with the integrity and training of crew, expertise and well tested procedures, has made Wackenhut the leader in secure transportation of cash and valuables to the benefit of its clientele which includes most of the banks, multinational and local commercial and industrial organisations nation-wide.
CIT is a sensitive business and carries a high risk potential, as such it is necessary to efficiently monitor the movement of each vehicle. This is achieved through a network of Control Rooms that operate on a 24/7/365 basis. Again because of the high risk value shipments, Wackenhut Pakistan has acquired an insurance policy that comprehensively covers it's risks.
In addition to the CIT services, Wackenhut Pakistan also provides ATM replenishment services to Banks. This services involves collecting of cash from a Bank, transporting it to the Bank's ATMs (whether on site or off-site), replenishing the Cassettes in the ATM as well as First Line Maintenance. This is a very specialised service and requires trained human resources, expertise and experience which Wackenhut is fully equipped with.
As a responsible corporate entity Wackenhut maintains close and open relationship with its customers, understands their needs and expectations and delivers the best quality services.
Wackenhut Pakistan understands and appreciates that it's business relies heavily on trained and motivated manpower and therefore has in place comprehensive Welfare Scheme that benefits employees and their families. These Welfare Schemes include: (1) Our employees are probably the highest paid among all the security service providers in the country. (2) Medical Centers that are open 24/7/365 for providing OPD treatment and free medicine to employees, their families and even those who are not employees. These Medical Centers are manned by qualified Doctors and Para-Medic staff. (3) Provision of Provision Fund. (4) EOBI, (5) Social Security, (6) Health insurance cover for all employees, their spouse and children enabling them get treatment in any leading hospital in the country. (10) Awarding Employee of the Month certificates and cash awards to deserving employees. (11) Annual assessment of performance and awarding commensurate increase in salaries as well as promotions.

Wackenhut is also a Member of International Code of Conduct Association (ICoCA), Switzerland.
