Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting to review measures regarding the betterment of healthcare system on Thursday. The meeting decided to handover hospitals ambulances to Rescue 1122 to facilitate patients and provide them timely medical aid.
Addressing the meeting, Punjab Chief Minister said that standard healthcare facilities was a basic right of the people and Punjab government would leave no stone unturned to provide best medical facilities to them. He said health Minister should personally visit to review healthcare facilities in hospitals of the province.
He said resources provided for the improvement of heath sector should be seen utilized in the form of best medical care. He stated that taking care of the grievances of ailing humanity was their responsibility, which was possible only through their service. He said immediate decisions would have to be taken to computerise the system of provision of medicines in the hospitals.
Shehbaz Sharif directed Health Department and Rescue 1122 to present a comprehensive plan regarding placing of ambulances of the hospitals at the disposal of Rescue 1122 within seven days. He said practical steps should be taken for improvement of healthcare system in the real sense. He said effective system of accountability was vital for the improvement of healthcare system.
