Corn spot basis bids were steady to narrowly higher at US Midwest processing plants on Friday, bolstered by a slow pace of farmer sales that left supplies relatively tight, grain merchants said. Chicago Board of Trade corn futures jumped 3.7 percent this week, but many farmers delayed sales in the hopes of further gains. Stockpiles were still sufficient for many processors and shippers, limiting the potential gains in bids.
