&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;In London, the FTSE 100 index of leading shares lost 1.04 percent to 5,923.53 points while in Paris, the CAC 40 was down 0.92 percent to 4,013.12 points.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;In Frankfurt, the DAX shed 1.69 percent to 7,194.60 points.&lt;/p&gt;
