HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares dipped in the first few minutes of trade Monday as investors keep an eye on the Middle East after US-led strikes against the Russia-backed Syrian regime fuelled fresh geopolitical fears.
The Hang Seng Index eased 0.59 percent, or 182.82 points, to 30,625.56.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index shed 0.20 percent, or 6.16 points, to 3,152.89 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.26 percent, or 4.83 points, to 1,829.55.
