KARACHI: Inspector General of Police Sindh, A.D.Khawaja on Friday directed the officials concerned to make stringent security arrangements across Sindh on the occasion of the Holy Night of Mairaaj, 'Shab-e-Mairaaj'.
He directed the DIGs to ensure random checking, patrolling on motorcycle, police picketing, advance intelligence sharing and other concrete steps on the venues and routes of programmes which will be organized on occasion of the Shab-e-Mairaaj, said a statement.
He also directed for physical checking, technical sweeping and clearance by bomb disposal squad with the cooperation of managements of mosques and organizers of the events.
The Sindh Police Chief directed that the parking arrangements be made at a safe distance from the venues of programmes of the Shab-e-Mairaaj besides traffic management and proper vigilance of parking lots.
He also directed that proper deployment of police at police station level be ensured and the policemen be strictly directed not to leave their place of duty so as to provide protection to the people while returning to their homes.
