Referring to the eight senior leaders of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) who quit the party on Monday, Nawaz Sharif has said that these people are the ones who dishonor politics.

Speaking to the media outside an accountability court on Tuesday, the former premier said that those who had left the party did not belong to PML-N and people like them come and go. Nawaz added that he had eyes on people like them and they were the ones who did not vote for him.

Hitting out at the senior leaders for parting ways with PML-N, Nawaz further said that after four years in power they came to realize that a separate South Punjab province should be created. Praising his brother and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif,  Nawaz said that he had performed exceptionally well in south Punjab.

With plans to make South Punjab separate province, 8 PML-N leaders quit party

The eight senior leaders of the party had earlier announced on Monday that they are leaving PML-N and that they would make south Punjab a separate province. “Poverty rates are higher than 51% in southern Punjab,” pointed out one of the seniors Khusro Bakhtiar.

Meanwhile, the accountability court resumed on Tuesday morning Avenfield reference hearing against Nawaz, daughter Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar. Sharif's counsel Khawaja Haris will continue to cross-examine key witness Wajid Zia, who headed the joint investigation team.
