Pakistani all-rounder compares Darren Sammy to Imran Khan

The love and passion of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi's skipper Darren Sammy for the game and for Pakistan has turned him into one of the most popular superstars in the country and a common household name.
Sammy, known for his aggressive captaincy and gung-ho attitude, has not only accumulated fans all over the globe but has also earned respect from fellow teammates, including Zalmi all rounder Umaid Asif, who termed Sammy’s leadership style similar to that of the legendary Imran Khan.
“We all know how good a captain Sammy is, as he has led his national team to two ICC titles. When it comes to his persona, it is unique and in terms of his leadership, to me it is similar to what probably Imran Khan’s style of captaincy must have been. He has the same positive attitude that we know Khan had and as someone playing under this style of captaincy, you feel like always giving your hundred percent for the captain,” said Asif, quoted PakPassion.
The Zalmi fast-bowler, who picked up 13 wickets in 12 matches at the recently concluded third edition of PSL, said that the Zalmi skipper provide feedback if needed, otherwise he won't ‘needlessly criticise’ the bowlers.
Asif then praised PSL, saying that the T20 tournament allows you to play alongside established international stars, which is crucial for any emerging player.
“I will add here that one of the best things about a tournament like PSL is that you are playing alongside legends as well as under the captaincy of legends as well which is crucial for an upcoming player like myself,” added Asif.
