Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (Paapam) has announced to hold 'Pakistan Auto Show' (PAPS 2013) in Karachi from January 11-13, 2013. It was announcing in Lahore at an opening of bookings for Paapam members, Munir K Bana, Chairman, PAPS, stated that this Auto Show will become the largest showcase of Pakistan's engineering export merchandise and services.
The event will be visited by a large number of buyers from across the globe, while around 150 multinational and national companies will display their products in the exhibition, he added. Munir Bana said that PAPS 2013, like the PAPS 2011 held in Lahore last year, would be a thoroughfare to the true commercial and manufacturing diversity of Pakistani companies, providing an opportunity to forge new alliances and business ventures.
He also called for positive contribution by the government in organising the mega exhibition, stating that the previous show was fully financed by Paapam itself. Addressing the launching ceremony, Paapam Chairman, Syed Nabeel Hashmi, strongly demanded of the government to ensure adequate and exclusive export promotions for the engineering sector. "We are expecting that TDAP will support PAPS 2013 initiatives", he said.
In Pakistan, local industry is manufacturing motorcycles, cars, tractors, other heavy vehicles like trucks and buses and also hosts major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) like Toyota, Honda, Suzuki and Massey Ferguson. Hashmi said that Germany, with the collaboration of its government agencies, holds the world's largest auto exhibition every year. In this exhibition only a dozen companies from Pakistan participate while from India hundreds of auto firms display their products, he added.
Hashmi stated that, with the steady growth in the automotive parts industry in the region, PAPS can play a crucial role in the economic development of the automobile related market, both locally and internationally. The show will be a perfect place to approach a potential buyer and meet existing customers, he added.-PR
