PESHAWAR: Under the directives of the Chief Secretary, Establishment and Administration Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reviewed and amended several Rules/Regulations including Disciplinary Rules besides Promotion and Project Policies to make them simpler and more effective.

According to official handout issued here Tuesday, for expeditious disposal of cases, particularly disciplinary matters, power of Chief Minister have been delegated to the Chief Secretary subject to final orders by the Chief Minister.

Similarly, for signing pension papers of officials up to BS-20, the Secretary of the Department concerned while in respect of BS-21 Officers, Chief Secretary will be the competent authority.

Under the new rules, time consuming procedures have been simplified to curtail delays and promote transparency. Likewise, the authority to approve service rules has been vested in Secretary Establishment. Probation will now terminate automatically on the completion of the stipulated period.

Furthermore, departments have been directed to display on their notice boards, the number of vacancies available under the quota of retired Class-IV employees' children and names of the candidates with their respective positions on the merit list.

Another important development is the constitution of Departmental Dispute Resolution Committees that will endeavour to settle legal disputes between the employees and Department out of Court, and minimize litigation against Government.
