ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice Javed Iqbal Monday took notice of alleged corruption and illegal award of contract for exploiting iron ore in Chiniot, Punjab.

He directed NAB DG Lahore to conduct a comprehensive inquiry and submit report accordingly, a press release said.

He also directed the NAB DG Lahore to inquire about the reasons behind closing the inquiry of mineral extraction so that the responsibility could be fixed and action be taken against responsible officers who closed inquiry allegedly against law.

The NAB chairman said the guidance could be sought from the decisions of high court and Supreme Court.
