LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that four and a half years tenure of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government was filled with records of public service.

Talking to a delegation of the PML-N which called on him here, he said that PML-N tenure in government was most transparent in Pakistan's 70 years history.

"We have set records of public service while on the other side; the defeated elements have set records of falsehood, mendacity and u-turns," he added. Shehbaz Sharif said that leader of sit-ins group had spoiled his credibility in the public by speaking lies at every occasion, and the one who worst performed in his province should realize facts now.

The so-called claimant of change remained continuously indulge in criticism for the sake of criticism and baseless allegations, he said and asserted that one had to spend a lifetime to serve the masses and the process of change could not be ensured through hollow-sloganeering as consistent public service was required for bringing change at grassroots.

The Chief Minister said that economy was ruined during the previous tenures due to energy crisis and besides this; the industrial and agricultural sectors were also devastated due to negligence and inefficiency of the past rulers.

During the previous tenure of Peoples Party, he mentioned, the national resources were looted ruthlessly by the past rulers which were totally drenched in corruption. On one side, there were past rulers whose only identity was loot and plunder and on the other side, there were defeated elements which were used to speaking lies. The defeated elements, as well as the plunderers, could not meet the PML-N's records of public service and prodigious performance.

He said the politician who was so-called claimant of change continuously lied to the people, leveled baseless allegations and remained engrossed in sit-ins and lockdowns; while they (PML-N) served the masses day and night and removed the darkness of load-shedding from the country.

Those who had done the politics of allegations, hypocrisy and falsehood had no right to represent the public, he viewed.

The Chief Minister said that public welfare projects had been completed with hard work and national resources had been utilized for the welfare of the masses by treating them as a sacred trust of the people.

"In fact, we have set records of public service during every tenure and the coming years are also remarkable. Punjab government has taken revolutionary steps for the betterment of different sectors including healthcare and education. Our every step is aimed at bringing prosperity and it is noteworthy that hundreds of thousands people daily use metro bus service for reaching their destinations," he maintained

While, Orange Line Metro Train project was near to completion, and it was sanguine that billions of rupees had been saved by promoting transparency in development projects, he mentioned. Instead of succumbing to any false political style, he said, they had set new records of public service.

He said that people would definitely hold accountability of the elements involved in negative politics, sit-ins and falsehood, that was why, these elements were afraid of facing the public now.

Shehbaz Sharif said that elements creating hurdles in the way of national development would be fully countered. If an opportunity was accorded to serve the people again after the election 2018, the looted money of the nation would be retrieved and both the parties would be defeated with the support of the public in general elections.

The PML-N would further expedite the journey of public service with renewed vigor, he resolved.
