HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks dipped Monday in apparent profit-taking after a surge at the open, as investors tracked record-high closes on Wall Street on Friday.
The Hang Seng Index -- which also closed at a record high on Friday -- lost 0.56 percent, or 187.23 points, to end the day at 32,966.89.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.99 percent, or 35.13 points, to 3,523.00, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 1.56 percent, or 30.41 points, to 1,919.80.
