Leader of Shia Ulema Council (SUC) Sajid Naqvi has termed recent sectarian targeted killing a conspiracy and said there is no clash between Shia and Sunni but some hidden forces want to spoil this harmony environment.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said that the present regime had totally failed to provide protection of people's life, honour and property, which was putting a big question mark on its performance.
Responding to a question about the killing of three lawyers in Karachi, Naqvi ruled out the impression that it was sectarian targeted killing and demanded of the government to constitute a commission like Memogate and Abbotabad commissions to investigate into killing.
Regarding the MMA, he said that there was no difference among religious parties on the restoration of the MMA and its revival would be good omen for the country. It had played a positive role in the past and promoted the brotherhood among different sects, he added.
Owing to the bad governance and the government's malpractice, Pakistan was becoming one of the most corrupt country in the world, he lamented. However, he said that the present PPP-led coalition government should complete its tenure so that it could fully expose before the people of Pakistan. He observed that the country had never witnessed free and fair elections in its history.
