      <title>PPP to strive for strengthening of democratic institutions: Zardari</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;img style="margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; float: left;" alt=" " src="https://i.brecorder.com/images/stories/pics2011/feb/zardar_400.jpg" width="400" height="228" /&gt;TOKYO: President Asif Ali Zardari who is also the Co-Chairman of the Paksitan People's Party (PPP) on Monday said that  the PPP believed in democracy and it had rendered countless sacrifices for the cause of democracy and would continue to strive for further strengthening of democratic institutions in the country.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;Talking to PPP office-bearers of Japan, led by its President Naem-ul-Ghani Araen, who called on him here at a local hotel, the President said that the PPP has deep roots among the masses as the they believe that its leadership had always struggled for their rights in power or even in the opposition.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;The President said power was part of politics, but the PPP had the faith to strive for the masses without any discrimination.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;The President said that the party would continue struggle for the rights of the masses.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Federal Minister for Textiles, Makhdoom Shahab ud Din and Spokesperson to the President Farhatullah Babar besides 15 members PPP delegation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;Briefing the media about the meting, Farhatullah Babar said that matters relating to achievements of the PPP led government in the past three years, restoration and strengthening of democracy, economic challenges faced by the country and the measures undertaken by the government for revival of economy including the privatization scheme came under discussion in the meeting.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;The President urged the PPP chapters in Japan to undertake concerted efforts to promote and project the real image of the country on one hand and to supplement the programme and manifesto of the party on the other.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;Every effort should be made by the PPP office bearers for the welfare and uplift of the Pakistani community.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;The President emphasized the active role of the party chapter abroad to support and supplement the government's efforts in confronting the gigantic challenges including curbing extremism and militancy, revival of war and flood ravaged economy of the country and generating employment opportunities for war and flood victims.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;The President said that the government is undertaking various proposals to rejuvenate the state-owned entities and to take forward Government's economic reforms agenda through privatization.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoPlainText"&gt;The Co-Chairman PPP appreciated the spirit and dedication of the party workers.&lt;/p&gt;
