The managing director PSO had been demanded to relase at least 50 percent of the total circular debt of Rs158.65 billion from the power sector, according to sources.

A spokesperson of the PSO said that the company had restored the furnace oil supply to WAPDA on Thursday due to the intervention of the government.

The PM also directed the ministry to hold meetings with the ministries of railway, water & power to resolve the issue of circular debt at the earliest.

Finance Minister Dr. Hafeez Sheikh will conduct a meeting with the relevant ministries on Monday, on the matter of circular debt.
