KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed higher on Wednesday having 48642.21 points with a negative change of 36.44 and volume of 151,902,390 shares.

High and Low were 48971.01 and 48501.42 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 330,624,440 shares with 410 total traded companies out of which 204 were up 185 were down and 21 were unchanged.

COMMERCIAL BANKS was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 57,533,500 shares. It was followed by ENGINEERING with a total traded volume of 30,687,900 shares.

The three top traded companies were Pak Elektron with a volume of 19,756,500 and price per share of 78.28 (3.72), B.O.Punjab with a volume 19,342,000of price per share of 17.78 (0.40), Aisha Steel Mill with a volume 11,664,000 of price per share of 18.65 (0.23).

The top three advancers were Pak Tobacco with price per share 1325.85 (63.05), Ghandhara Ind. with price per share of 1077.78 (51.32) and Millat Tractors share of 1056.19 (50.29).

The top three decliners were Sanofi-Aventis with price per share of 2722.00 (45.50), Service Ind.Ltd with price per share of 1506.30 (33.95) and Wyeth Pak Ltd share of 4749.00 (30.54).
