KARACHI: Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) 100 index closed lower on Monday having 48888.54 points with a negative change of -321.96 and volume of 157,168,840 shares.

High and Low were 49395.11 and 48821.75 respectively. Total volume traded in the market was 316,062,160 shares with 403 total traded companies out of which 137 were up 249 were down and 17 were unchanged.

COMMERCIAL BANKS was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 35,581,000 shares. It was followed by OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES with a total traded volume of 32,669,300 shares.

The three top traded companies were K-Electric Ltd. with a volume of 22,746,000 and price per share of 9.46 (0.21), Sui South Gas with a volume 18,177,000 of price per share of 38.64 (0.90), Pace Engro Fert.. with a volume 16,943,500 of price per share of 70.39 (0.80).

The top three advancers were Mari Petroleum with price per share 1455.28 (47.69), Ghandhara Ind. with price per share of 977.59 (46.55) and Abbott Lab.. share of 971.77 (35.42).

The top three decliners were Unilever Foods with price per share of 5750.00 (-235.00), Rafhan Maize with price per share of 7810.00 (-230.00) and Wyeth Pak Ltd share of 4710.21 (-191.29).
