      <title>Gas-Safety Gas consumers urged to adopt safety measures</title>

      <description>&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;img style="margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; float: left;" src="https://i.brecorder.com/images/stories/sui_northren_400.jpg" width="400" height="268" /&gt;ISLAMABAD: General Manager Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) Islamabad Region Aamir Naseem on Thursday urged the consumers to adopt safety measures while using gas appliances to avoid untoward incidents.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Talking to APP, he said each year several gas related accidents occur in different areas, particularly during the winter season.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;He urged people to follow precautionary measures for their own safety adding that people should avoid using rubber pipes for gas appliances.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;He was of the view standard gas equipment and pipes can curtail the ratio of critical incidents.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Aamir said that precautionary measures, such as frequently checking of gas service lines is must and maintained that in case of leakage these should be repaired immediately.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Urging the safe use of heaters, GM SNGPL said that the windows of a room should be kept open when the gas heater is turned on.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Replying to a question, he said that recent low pressure of gas is temporary and the issue would be solved very soon.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;GM SNGPL further stated that SNGPL emergency teams are working round the clock and facilitating the customers on their complaints.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;He said customers can contact regional offices for registering their complaints on 1199 from landline and 0421199 from mobile.&lt;/p&gt;
