BERLIN: The German government said Monday that it has received a request from Egyptian authorities for the financial assets of former government members and lawmakers to be frozen.

"We confirm having received from the Egyptian authorities a request for the financial assets of former members of the Egyptian government and of the Egyptian parliament to be frozen," a foreign ministry spokesman said.
