According to police, Muhammad Ramazan and his accomplices tried to kidnap Shehr Bano, wife of Liaqat Ali, in Peerwali. When  Atta Mohammad s/o Nazar Mohammad and Yasir s/o Ashiq Hussain put up resistance in the kidnapping, the accused opened firing on them. As a result, Atta Mohammad died on the spot and Yasir was injured.

Patrolling police was informed of the incident,which alerted every checkpost in the city.

They found their vehicle near Mohsin Shah bridge and arrested Mumtaz Hussain, Mohammad Ramazan, Mohammad Rizwan,Mohammad Arif and driver Shafqat. The police also recovered illegal weapons and 60 bullets from their possession and registered an FIR against them.
