KOHAT A car bomb blast inside a road tunnel leading to the tribal belt on the Afghan border has killed five people and wounded 15, police officials said.

The blast late Friday night also damaged the tunnel on the main road between the northwestern city of Peshawar and the region.

MOHMAND Security forces, backed by helicopter gunships, have killed nearly a dozen militants in the tribal region of Mohmand on the Afghan border, where troops are carrying out small-scale operations against insurgents, government officials said on Saturday.

Nearly two dozens militants have been killed in the past two days of fighting. There was no independent verification of the death toll and militants often dismiss official reports.
