PARIS:Four French journalists reporting on anti-government protests in Cairo were arrested on Friday, a foreign ministry spokesman said in Paris.

"We have just been informed of the arrest of four (French) journalists this morning in Cairo," spokesman Bernard Valero said, adding that if the information was correct France would ask for their "immediate release."
